Location Summary:
The town of Denia, thought to be named after the Roman Temple of Diana. is situated at the foot of Montgo Mountain (Elephant Mountain) and is a very vibrant place. The beach that stretches for some 15 km begins just to the north of Denia is sandy in the town itself and is an ideal place for sunbathing and swimming. The port of Denia is very important to the town with the daily fish market and regular ferries to the Balearic Islands. The trip to the island of Ibiza takes only 2 hours. There is a large marina housing some 1000 moorings. Denia has an old castle that is now an archaeological museum that shows the towns history. In the town you will find all modern facilities but around the narrow streets of the fishing quarter all the towns history can be revealed. The restaurants in town are of excellent quality serving all foods including traditional paella and a great variety of fresh seafood. A car is considered necessary at this property
